In recent years, the dynamic properties of rubber, especially the dynamic ozone resistance is more and more demanding. The present work is to use chloroprene rubber as the main rubber, and on the basis of its modification, so as to obtain good dynamic ozone resistance.


I. Results and Discussion


1. Improvement of dynamic ozone resistance of chloroprene rubber by antioxidants


After adding antioxidant RD, the compression deformation resistance and ozone resistance of vulcanized rubber were improved to different degrees, while other physical properties did not change much. When the dosage of antioxidant RD was increased from 0 to 2 parts, the ozone cracking time of CR vulcanized rubber was increased from 120h to 408h, so it can be seen that the quinoline antioxidant RD can significantly improve the dynamic ozone aging resistance of CR vulcanized rubber, but it does not affect the overall physical properties of CR vulcanized rubber.


2.EPDM / CR and improve the dynamic ozone resistance of chloroprene rubber

chloroprene rubber production of cable protective sheath rubber formulation, it does not apply to aniline antioxidants and quinoline antioxidants, to improve its dynamic ozone resistance can be used in conjunction with EPDM and chloroprene rubber. From the experimental data can be seen after adding EPDM, the dynamic ozone aging resistance of vulcanized rubber than the original formula to improve the performance of nearly 10 times, in addition to a slight increase in compression deformation, other physical properties are basically able to maintain at the original level. Chloroprene rubber and EPDM rubber, can greatly improve the dynamic ozone aging resistance of vulcanized rubber.


II. Conclusions


1. For some chloroprene rubber hose, in order to improve its dynamic ozone aging resistance without affecting its overall physical properties, you can use aniline-based antioxidants and quinoline-based antioxidants not more than two parts of the RD and can effectively improve the dynamic ozone resistance of vulcanized rubber, more than three times.


2. For chloroprene rubber formulations not suitable for aniline-based antioxidants and quinoline-based antioxidants, CR / EPDM can be used in parallel to improve the dynamic ozone resistance of chloroprene rubber. Tests have proved that, without significantly affecting the comprehensive physical properties of the original formula under the premise of the appropriate portion of ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) and chloroprene rubber(CR) and can significantly improve the dynamic ozone aging resistance of vulcanized rubber.
