Ethylene propylene rubber (mainly binary ethylene propylene rubber) is used in large quantities as a viscosity index modifier (OVI or VII) for many hydrocarbon oils to improve the lubricity of the oil at high and low temperatures and to enable the oil to work better both at static and dynamic conditions.
